Next Meeting: Sat., March 31, 2018,
Coffee at 9:00 AM
I hope that the New Year is off to a great start for you, your families, and your Lodges!
As we begin this New Masonic Year, I invite you all to the first stated communication of the A. Douglas Smith, Jr. Lodge of Research. We will meet on Saturday, 31 March at 10:00 am in the North Lodge Room of the George Washington Masonic Memorial.
We are kicking off this Masonic Year with new, original research that can help us all as we operate our Blue Lodges. Brother George J. Sawyer is doing research on moving "Toward a Definition of Organizational Effectiveness in Masonic Lodges." His work explores the question of how to best evaluate the organizational effectiveness (OE) of Masonic Lodges. For those, like me, who are unfamiliar with the term, businesses and organizations use common frameworks for understanding their OE. However, Freemasonry is not a typical organization and measurement of effectiveness can be extremely challenging. Brother Sawyer has explored some of the most closely aligned OE models and will suggest a new framework for effectiveness. For those who are Officers, Masters, or Past Masters of your Lodges and who are interested in improving our operations within them - as well as the strength of our Craft, this is an opportunity not to be missed!
As always, when we break at noon we will have a lunch brought in by our wonderful Stewards, and everyone is welcome! Please come out and be a part of strengthening our Fraternity. I look forward to seeing you there!
Respectfully and Fraternally,
Marc Allen Hone
